I always channel my emotions into my work. That way, I don't hurt anyone but myself.

I must be the only person here who didn’t just choose things on MTV’s nominee’s because of the fact it’s the hunger games. I actually thought about which one I prefer. And if it wasn’t the hunger games [And to be honest the only one that wasn’t was Best fight. That one went to HP] I didn’t choose it.

What’s the matter, powderpuff? This’s all it takes to send that decorum of yours packing? Come on, now, sweetheart, I know you can do better than that…

You know what’s funny about Hunger Games? The other day there was a poll about and my cast was asked ‘If there were real life hunger games who would go first?’ They said ME.That’s such a bull shit.I would end up…I would.. I would really take them all down.I’m from Jersey. This is ridiculous.

Looks like our own Seneca Crane is a Hayffie shipper as well.

Ms. Trinket and Mr. Abernathy have some serious sexual tension in the flick. Bet you didn’t pick up on thatin the book, did ya?

“Yes! I thought the same thing!” Wes Bentley (who plays Seneca Crane) enthusiastically chimed in when we asked Elizabeth about the pairing at a press day for the film held here in L.A.

Woody responds to Elizabeth Banks' ideas that her character, Effie, has a crush on Haymitch and Banks' own crush on him.

  • Moviefone: You got to work with Elizabeth Banks and annoy the heck out of her.
  • Woody: [Laughs] Yes. Did you talk to her?
  • Moviefone: Yes. And she said she worked out a whole backstory between your characters where Effie is crushing on Haymitch and Haymitch wants nothing to do with her.
  • Woody: That's so funny she said that! I just thought we had a little spite for each other. Like, I look at her as just this highfalutin dame in the Capitol who has no sense of reality or what's going on out in the districts. Haymitch is hard on her. That's not so much in the book, but it just felt right at the time. I haven't heard her side of it, which intrigues me.
  • Moviefone: Well, there are sequels, so you can explore that side of things. And she did say that in real-life, she has a crush on you.
  • Woody: [Grinning.] I wish she could have said something earlier!

Elizabeth Banks on Effie and Haymitch.

“Haymitch and Effie have spent a lot of time together,” Elizabeth coyly quipped. “We played a lot with that actually.”

“I think that there is actual respect between the two of them…We wanted to play them like they’re old—well, they’re not old friends, but there is a respect between them.”

“I think Effie has a huge crush on Haymitch. I have a huge crush on Woody. And I think Haymitch is like “Eh, I think Effie would be fun in the sack. I would do that.’”

And apparently Effie would be totally game—at least according to Elizabeth, who told Celebuzz “I always read the Capitol as like f—ked up pansexuality. Like everybody is doing everybody. It’s back to Greek and Roman times—it’s happening.”
